What is Google Duplex? Did Google fake its demo?

What is Google Duplex?  At Google’s recent I/O conference, CEO Sundar Pichai unveiled Google Duplex, an AI feature that takes Google Assistant to the next level. Duplex can make calls, book appointments, and run errands on its own, and it feels surprisingly human. But after the game, many began to question its authenticity. What makes Google Duplex different? Unlike conventional AI, Duplex uses natural language, complete with pauses and punctuation, to give it a more realistic human feel. The idea is that Duplex can handle day-to-day tasks over the phone without the need for human intervention. Was the demo staged? The controversy arose for several reasons: Unreal Sound: The calls had no distinct background noise, which seemed to be controlled by suspicion. In the recently concluded Google I/O developers conference, Sundar Pichai gave a demonstration of the next development in their Google AI called Google Duplex. It has confused many if it is something new or a development on something existing. So let’s clear the confusion first and see  what is Google Duplex .
